Bacteria
prokaryotic; extremely small single celled organisms; two groups - Archeabacteria and Eubacteria
Protista
eukaryotic; single celled or very simple multicellular organisms; paramecium, slime-mold and kelp
Fungi
eukaryotic; multicellular; absorb nutrients from their surroundings; cell walls; molds and mushrooms
Plantae
eukaryotic; multicellular; usually green; cell walls; use the sun's energy to make sugar by a process called photosynthesis
Animalia
eukaryotic; multicellular; most can move and have central nervous systems; no cell walls; birds, reptiles, insects, mammals, amphibians
