Definition

Useful good

It’s good for you, despite if you like it or not. (Brushing your teeth, showering, etc.)

Good in itself

A good that is just desirable, not useful (Ex. Birthday Party)

Useful AND desirable good

Wealth, material possessions, or commodities that hold both practical value (utility) and social or personal appeal (desirability)

Doxa

Common opinion/ Accepted Cultural Belief

Endoxa

Reputable opinion, respected by philosophers, traditions, authorities

Deixis

Evidence that points towards a conclusion

Apodeixis

Established premises and necessary reasoning

Simple Apprehension

The act of the intellect, by which we form a concept of the essence of something

Judgment

The active affirming, or denying one concept of another concept

Reasoning

Act of the intellectual, by which the mind is led to a judge of the truth of a proposition based upon the truth of other propositions

Concept

A subject or predicate, but considered no as a Word or phrase, or spoken out loud, but something in the mind
