Bible
Transliteration of the Greek word biblia, meaning "books," referring to a book as a literary unit.
Scriptures
Transliteration from the Latin meaning "the things that are written," commonly used to describe the texts of the Bible.
Inspiration
The Scriptures originated in the will and intentions of God Himself.
Amanuensis
The typical process for composing an epistle involved St. Paul delivering it orally to a secretary, who would write it down and provide corrections. The author would then review the text.
Scientific Rationalism
In the eighteenth century, the application of scientific rationalism to the study of the biblical text began to cast doubt on supernatural or miraculous events in the Scriptures.
Inerrancy
The Scriptures are inerrant, or without error, in all that they teach and proclaim.
