Whole Numbers
Non-negative integers consisting of {0,1,2,3,…}.
Integers
Positive and negative whole numbers along with zero, represented as {…,−2,−1,0,1,2,…}.
Division by Zero
A mathematical operation such as 09 that is undefined.
Prime Number
A number that has only two distinct positive divisors: 1 and itself.
Composite Odd Number
An odd number that has factors other than 1 and itself, such as 9.
Greatest Common Divisor (GCD)
The largest positive integer that divides two or more numbers without a remainder, such as 10 for the numbers 60 and 70.
Least Common Denominator (LCD)
The least common multiple of the denominators of a set of fractions.
Improper Fraction
A fraction that has a numerator greater than or equal to its denominator, such as 1010.
Proportion
An equality of two ratios.
Commutative Property
The property of real numbers describing an alteration in the order of operations without changing the result, such as (5+6)+3=3+(5+6).
Equilateral Triangle
A triangle with all three sides equal.
Net Profit
The difference between gross profit and the cost of goods sold.
Hypotenuse of a 45°-45°-90° Triangle
The longest side of a 45∘−45∘−90∘ triangle, which measures x2cm when one leg measures xcm.
