abdominal aorta, IVC, + possibly both kidneys

What to include in an abdominal wall imaging?

specific area of a palpable mass or the evaluation for hernias and/or hematomas

What to include in an appendix or bowel imaging?

appendix (RLQ), affected bowel, + an additional quadrant evaluation

What to include in a complete abdomen scan?

Pancreas, liver, gallbladder, biliary tree, kidneys, adrenal glands, abdominal aorta, IVC, spleen, urinary bladder (if needed)

What to include in a peritoneal fluid search?

ascites search in the peritoneal spaces

What to include in a renal imaging series?

Kidneys, adrenal glands, urinary bladder, + abdominal aorta (possibly)

What to include in a RUQ imaging series?

Pancreas, liver, gallbladder, biliary tree, right kidney, right adrenal gland, IVC, + abdominal aorta (possibly)

What is the scan protocol order for abdominal?

1. rt lumbar region

2. rt hypochondriac region

3. epigastric region

4. left hypochondriac region

5. left lumbar region
