Cell Theory
Concept stating that all living things are made of cells, cells are the basic unit of life, and all cells come from existing cells.
Prokaryotic Cells
Cells that are smaller, unicellular, lack a nucleus, and do not have membrane-bound organelles.
Eukaryotic Cells
Cells that can be unicellular or multicellular, have a nucleus, and have membrane-bound organelles.
Organelles
Small structures inside a cell that have specific functions, often referred to as 'mini organs'.
Capsule
A protective outer layer found in some bacteria.
Plasmids
Small circular DNA molecules found in bacteria that can replicate independently.
