Wellbeing
A state of happiness and contentment, with low levels of distress, overall good physical and mental health, and a good quality of life.
Subjective wellbeing
A person’s evaluation of their own level of happiness and life satisfaction.
Affective Balance
The daily balance between positive and negative emotions that an individual experiences in their daily life.
Affect
The experience and outward expression of emotion.
Positive affect
The internal feeling state that occurs when a goal has been attained, a threat has been avoided, or the individual is satisfied with the present state of affairs.

Factors influencing subjective wellbeing including basic resources, personality and temperament, mindset and resilience, social support, and societal factors.
