Anterior and posterior views of the skull
The official views for examining the front and back of the human skull structure.
Lateral aspect of the skull
The view of the skull from the side, which includes both external and internal features.
Base of the cranial cavity
The internal floor of the skull that supports the brain.
Hyoid bone
A bone located in the neck region, as identified in Figure 7.12.
Orbits
The bony cavities in the skull that contain the eyes.
Nasal cavity
The space inside and behind the nose, formed by specific cranial and facial bones.
Paranasal sinuses
Air-filled cavities within the bones of the skull, presented in Figure 7.15.
Vertebral column
The central bony structure of the back, united by ligaments and fibrocartilage discs.
Abnormal spinal curvatures
Irregular deviations in the alignment of the vertebral column.
Atlas and Axis
The first and second cervical vertebrae, designated as C1 and C2 respectively.
Sacrum and coccyx
The terminal bones of the vertebral column below the lumbar vertebrae.
Thoracic cage
The bony framework of the chest, including the ribs and sternum.
Pectoral girdle
The unit of bones consisting of the clavicle and scapula that articulates with the upper limbs.
Humerus
The long bone of the right arm that articulates at the elbow.
Radius and ulna
The two bones that constitute the forearm.
Pelvis
The basin-shaped structure at the lower end of the trunk, including the hip (coxal) bones.
Tibia and fibula
The two bones found in the lower leg.
Arches of the foot
The structural configurations of the foot bones, comprising longitudinal and transverse arrangements.
