Position
Location of a particle with respect to a chosen reference point.
Displacement
The change in position of a particle in a time interval.
Distance
A scalar quantity representing the total length of the path traveled by a particle.
Velocity
A vector quantity that includes both speed and direction of motion.
Average Velocity
The total displacement divided by the total time taken.
Instantaneous Velocity
The velocity of an object at a specific moment in time.
Average Speed
Total distance traveled divided by the total time taken; a scalar quantity.
Acceleration
The rate of change of velocity of a particle with respect to time.
Kinematic Equations
Equations that relate position, velocity, acceleration, and time for uniformly accelerated motion.
Freely Falling Objects
Objects that fall solely under the influence of gravity, experiencing constant acceleration.
Instantaneous Acceleration
The acceleration of an object at a specific instant in time.
Graphical Representation
The visual representation of position, velocity, or acceleration as a function of time.
Newton's Second Law
The force on an object is proportional to its acceleration.
Velocity-Time Graph
A graph showing how an object's velocity changes over time.
Acceleration-Time Graph
A graph showing how an object's acceleration changes over time.
Scalar Quantity
A quantity that has magnitude only, with no direction.
Vector Quantity
A quantity that has both magnitude and direction.
