What is a conservancy?
Privately/community managed land bordering national reserves. Usually fewer vehicles, more exclusivity and activities such as night drives and walking safaris that may be restricted in national parks/reserves.
Why choose a conservancy over the main Maasai Mara Reserve?
Fewer vehicles, more intimate sightings, greater flexibility and often activities such as night drives/walking. You can still access the wider Mara ecosystem depending on the camp/location.
Can I guarantee the Big Five?
No. Wildlife is wild, so sightings can never be guaranteed. A good guide and strong wildlife area maximise the chances.
Why use light aircraft between safari areas?
It avoids very long road journeys and maximises time on safari; flights often land at small bush airstrips near the camps.
