Clearing Turns

Announce on Dispatch

• 95 KIAS

• 1500 AGL (minimum)

  1. 45 Degree turn

  2. add 100-300 RPM

  3. Trim to maintain altitude

  4. Remove on roll out of steep turn

Steep Turns

Clearing Turns

Announce on Dispatch

• Reduce power to 1500 RPM

• Increase pitch to maintain altitude

• Lower flaps when in flap operating range

• At KIAS under 60kts, add power to maintain altitude

Recovery:

• Apply full power

• Retract flaps 10 degrees

• slowly lower nose until with horizon, at 79 KIAS, flaps 0

Slow Flight (Any)

Clearing Turns

Announce on Dispatch

• Power to 1500 RPM and 65 KTS

• Allow altitude drop of 100-200 feet

• Smoothly reduce power to idle

• increase pitch to around 10 degrees and maintain wing coordination with rudder

Recovery

• Reduce angle of attack

• Coordinate wings with rudder

• Full power, right rudder

• Climb to original altitude at Vx (60), then Vy (79)

Power-off Stall flaps up (Any)

• Power to 1500 RPM and 65 KTS
