Goal of the Experiment
Determination of NaOH concentration by titration with a standardized 0.10 mol/L HCl solution.
Research Problem
To titrate NaOH solution with a standardized HCl solution to determine the unknown concentration of NaOH.
Materials (Titration experiment)
Buret, stand, burette clamp, 250 mL Erlenmeyer flask, 100 mL graduated cylinder, 10 mL pipette, funnel, and white card.
Substances (Titration experiment)
Phenolphthalein, distilled water, NaOH solution, and 0.10 mol/L HCl solution.
Titration Step 1
Add phenolphthalein indicator to NaOH in Erlenmeyer flask.
Titration Step 2
Fill the buret with 0.10 mol/L HCl solution.
Titration Step 3
Titrate until colorless.
Calculations (Titration experiment)
The concentration of NaOH in mol/L.
Calculations (Titration experiment)
The concentration of NaOH in m/V%.
