Non-challenge reply method
The challenge-reply checklist method shall be used for all checklists except for:
Instrument Flight Checklist,
Level-Off Checklist,
Hot Refueling Checklist,
and Environmental Control System checklists.

one crewmember should read the challenge
the other crewmember should perform the action and respond with the reply (indicating the task is complete)
At the discretion of the PIC, the same crewmember may conduct both the challenge and the reply.
The non-challenge-reply method:

PIC

Observer
· primary purpose: visual lookout crewmember, often in rear seat
· may be tasked for any purpose assigned by the PIC
PNAC
· PNAC – the pilot not manipulating the aircraft flight controls.
· shall constantly monitor all maneuvers being performed by the PAC, bringing attention to deviations from normal operations and potentially unsafe situations, regardless of differences in designations/rank.
· should handle any cockpit duty that may potentially distract the PAC from flying the aircraft.
· Note
o The PNAC should notify the PAC before changing avionics, moving a switch or resetting/pulling a circuit breaker.
PAC
· PAC – the pilot manipulating the aircraft flight controls.
· Cockpit duties that may interfere with the PAC's ability to maintain flight within established parameters should be delegated to the PNAC, aircrewman or observer.
Crew alerting system
§ CAS – a dedicated window on the MFD and the PFD when in Essential format (or automatically displayed on PFD if the MFD fails)
§ Many of the emergencies are indicated by:
· red CAS warning message + red flashing MWL
· amber CAS caution messages + flashing amber MCL
§ Red above amber above green
§ Show up in order of recency

· Acknowledge: press Master Reset or the MWL
