Ursa major, the great bear

Callisto, a beautiful young maiden, was friends with Artemis, the moon goddess of the hunt. Callisto was sleeping one night and Zeus walked near the woodland cove that she was in. He saw her Callisto and spied on her while she slept. Zeus made himself look like Apollo and made her his lover. After a little bit, Callisto had his child, Arcas. Zeus knew that Apollo and Hera would be angry so to protect her, he turned her into a bear. Later in Arcas's life, he was hunting and saw a big bear just as he was about to shoot, Zeus turned him into a little bear so that he would know who the bear actually was. Zeus put them into the heavens to protect them from Hera and Apollo.

The king and queen, Cepheus and Cassiopeia

Cassiopeia and Cepheus had a daughter named Andromeda and she was very beautiful. one day the sea nymphs heard Cassiopeia bragging about Andromeda's beauty and they complained about it to Poseidon. Poseidon wasn't happy and sent a sea monster to the city of Joppa, which was Cassiopeia and Cepheus's city, to destroy it. Cepheus got an Oracal and it told him he had two choices, sacrifice Andromeda or let the city get destroyed. He chose to sacrifice Andromeda so he chained her to a cliff. Perseus flew through the city on Pegasus and told Andromeda that he would save her as long as she married him. She agreed and later when they died they got put into the sky as constellations. Cassiopeia was put into the sky on her throne, but every night it would turn upside down and Cepheus got put into the sky with his arms stretched out.
