Titration step 1
Measure 25cm cubed of sodium hydroxide solution in conical flask using a pipette
Titration step 2
Add universal indicator which will turn purple
Titration step 3
Fill Burnett with hydrochloric acid until it hits zero
Titration step 4
Drop hydrochloric acid into sodium hydroxide until the indicator turns green and note the volume of acid used
Titration step 5
Repeat this twice and take average of results - this volume will exactly neutralise 25 cm cubed of sodium hydroxide solution
Titration step 6
Put 25cm cubed of sodium hydroxide in flask and run it to correct volume of hydrochloric acid needed - no indicator required
Titration step 7
Sodium chloride solution produced - this is then evaporated and crystallised
