What is diffusion
Diffusion is the movement of molecules from a region of high concentration to a region of low concentration; it doesn’t take energy.
Factors that affect diffusion
Surface area, distance, temperature and concentration gradient.
Osmosis
Osmosis is the net movement of water molecules from a region of higher water potential to a region of lower water potential, through a partially permeable membrane.
Active transport
The movement of particles through a cell membrane from a region of lower concentration to a region of higher concentration using energy from respiration.
