bending movement where joint angle decreases (any joint)
extension
straightening movements where joint angle increases (any joint)
hyperextension
extension of body part past anatomical position, over increasing joint angle
hyperflexion
joint bends to far past normal range of motion over decreasing joint angle.
abduction
movement of a segment away from midline (any joint)
adduction
movement of a segment towards midline (any joint)
horizontal adduction
a body movement where a limb moves across the front of your body toward your center line in the horizontal plane

a body movement where the arm moves outward away from the middle of the chest in the horizontal or transverse plane
