WATCHMAN FLX™ Pro Design Goals
The three core design goals of the device: 1) Reduce likelihood of DRT, 2) Treat larger anatomies, and 3) Enhance imaging capabilities.
Hemocoat Technology
A non-eluting fluoropolymer coating on the WATCHMAN FLX™ Pro that promotes healing and promotes endothelialization.
WATCHMAN FLX™ Pro Sizing Specifications
Sizing features including 6 device sizes, accommodating an LAA ostium of 14−36mm, and a compression range of 10−30%.
Sparkle Artifact
An incidental ultrasound imaging finding caused by ultrasound waves interacting with the hemocoat polymer, which causes no harm to the patient.
Radiopaque Markers (WATCHMAN FLX™ Pro)
Markers on the device utilized as deployment aids, during the Tug Test, and for visualizing the device on profile.
WATCHMAN FLX™ Pro Deployment Knob
A deployment knob that is larger in size to enhance control and orange in color to distinguish the WATCHMAN FLX™ Pro device.
3 in 1 VersaCross™ RF Wire
A wire used as a starter wire or standard 0.35′′ mechanical wire that must not be inserted or retracted through a metal cannula or percutaneous needle.
TRUform Technology
A steel hypotube integrated into the VersaCross Connect™ LAAC Dilator that allows for re-shaping to provide more reach.
VersaCross Connect™ Dilator Alignment Requirement
The procedural requirement to keep the dilator side arm and sheath side port aligned throughout the procedure due to the LACK of rotational lock.
Baseline LAA Evaluation Angles
Evaluating the size and morphology of the LAA using baseline imaging at 0, 45, 90, and 135 degrees.
Transeptal Puncture Imaging Views
The required imaging orientations during puncture: Bicaval view (superior/inferior) and Short-axis view (anterior/posterior).
VersaCross™ RF Wire Crossing Mechanics
Advancing the RF wire 1−3mm beyond the dilator tip, turning RF delivery ON, advancing into the LA once bubbles appear, and positioning into the LSPV or mid LA.
Heparin Protocol (VersaCross Connect)
Administering heparin prior to transeptal puncture (TSP) when using VersaCross Connect, maintaining a target ACT of 200−300.
LA Mean Pressure Goal
Left atrial mean pressure target of ≥10mmHg; if pressure is <10mmHg, a fluid bolus should be considered.
Distal Marker Band Alignment
Aligning the distal marker bands from left to right, blue to white, prior to unsheathing to form the FLX ball.
WATCHMAN FLX™ Deployment Methods
The three procedural techniques for deploying the device: Unsheathe, Advancement, and Combination.
PASS Criteria
The required assessment criteria to verify prior to releasing the device: Position, Anchor, Size, and Seal.
Device Recaptures
Procedural retrieval maneuvers performed on the device, categorized as either Full recapture or Partial recapture.
