Clinically manifests as pain in joint capsule

Osteochondrosis Dissecans (OCD)

Developmental disorder; erosion of articular cartilage at head of humerus

Partial or full detachment of cartilage from surface of joint

Affects large, fast growing breeds in adolescence

OCD Dx

Full extension of the shoulder w/ scapula stabilized; if painful > sign of joint problem

Done at level of acromion & humeral greater tubercle, caudo-medial directon
