condidiasis
Thick, white, curdy "cottage-cheese" discharge; intense pruritus (itching).
Trichomonas
Frothy, yellow-green discharge; foul odor; pruritus; "strawberry" cervix
Gonorrhea/Chlamydia
Often asymptomatic; vaginal discharge, urinary frequency/dysuria; can lead to PID.
Herpes Simplex Virus
Cluster of painful, small vesicles on an erythematous base; shallow, painful ulcers.

Painless solitary chancre (firm, round, small sore).
Herpes Simplex Status in Pregnancy
Important to assess, especially near delivery. An active herpes lesion near or on the genital tract at the time of delivery requires a Cesarean section (C-section) to prevent transmission of the virus to the neonate, which can be fatal.
