Blog
Derived from the word "weblog," these are online journals originally intended for users to chronicle daily experiences in diary-like entries.
Individual Blog
A type of blog often monetized through ads, product sales, or affiliate links to earn money from blog traffic.
Business Blog
A blog used as an important business tool to drive traffic to main sales pages, share expertise, or raise brand awareness.
Interlinking
The practice of a blogger placing a link to someone else's blog or a shop's online store within their own blog post to build community.
SEO
Stands for Search Engine Optimization; a set of exercises utilized to get more web traffic through search engines such as Google, Microsoft Edge, and Bing.
Keywords
Words or phrases commonly used by people concerning the topic they are searching for, ranked based on search volume and trends.
Keyword research
A building block of SEO involving the analysis of terms people search for to tailor content and attract the right audience.
Header tags
Html elements such as h1, h2, h3, and h4 that search engines weigh more heavily when they contain search terms.
Content Writing
A form of writing specialized for the web and online marketing to drive traffic and influence consumer behavior through informative or entertaining content.
Content
Information and experiences provided to an audience through publishing, art, and communication mediums such as audio, video, and text.
Website Copywriting
The process of crafting content for landing pages, product pages, and home pages that communicates clearly and encourages actionable steps.
Advertising and Sales Copywriting
Marketing writing aimed at sparking interest in a product and persuading consumers to make a purchase.
Social Media Posts
Written content featuring simple, informal language designed to grab attention and encourage engagement like sharing, liking, or commenting.
Chunking
The practice of focusing each paragraph on only one topic to make the content easier for web visitors to scan and read.
Inverted pyramid structure
A formatting structure used for top-level pages where the most important information is presented first.
Landing Page
A single web page or small hub site with a specific focus on prompting users to take a particular action, such as signing up or subscribing.
Home page
The main navigation page of a site where users access various content, navigation bars, and general information.
Lead Generation Landing Pages
Pages focused on acquiring sales leads by persuading users to share their information via a data capture form in exchange for exclusive content.
Call to Action (CTA)
The specific element on a landing page, such as a data capture form or a "Buy Now" button, that prompts the user's response.
Lead nurturing
The process of providing leads with relevant content and offers over time to guide them through the sales funnel.
Single-Offer Landing Pages
Landing pages containing only one asset, typically yielding higher conversion rates later in the customer journey.
Click-through Landing Pages
An immediate marketing approach that guides prospects straight to a subscription or direct sale button.
