The Fool
The Fool represents a new journey and a step into the unknown. It may indicate a new job, relationship, move, business, hobby, or travel. It has a naive, youthful energy and encourages you to do your own thing and not worry about what other people think.
It also represents freedom and liberation. The bag on her back is small. This symbolizes baggage or experiences you are taking with you and the tools you need as you move ahead. Only take what you need, what still serves you, and leave the rest in the past. In this way, you will liberate yourself.
She carries a walking stick (wand), which symbolizes power or special talent. Because of its placement in the deck before the Magician, it is indicated that the Fool has this talent or power, but does not yet know how to use it. Keep this in your mind as you embark on your journey: you have the power in the situation or natural talent you will need, but you will have to go on this journey to learn how to use it.
There are two cherubs overhead. These represent your guardian angels (often ancestors or loved ones who have passed), who will watch over you and guide you safely through your journey. They work in subtle ways, showing you signs and speaking through your intuition or “gut” feelings. You must stay present during your journey in order to notice and feel your guardian angels guiding you.
