JROTC Mission
To motivate young people to be better citizens.
1916
The year the Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (JROTC) program began.
Military Service Obligation (MSO)
There is absolutely NO obligation to join the military to participate in JROTC.
Army Cadet Service Uniform Day
The day the uniform is worn weekly, which is Wednesdays.
Classroom Performance System (CPS)
An interactive technology used in the classroom to complete summative and formative assessments.
Uniform Inspection Points
The maximum amount a cadet may earn during inspections, which is 200 points.
Headband Width
A hair ornament that should not be wider than 121 inches.
Acrylic Nail Extension Limit
Must not extend more than 21 inch from the tip of the finger.
Sideburns Standard
Must be neatly trimmed and not extend below the lowest part of the exterior ear opening.
Extracurricular GPA Requirement
The requirement of maintaining a 2.0 grade point average to be on an Eagle’s Battalion team.
Community Service Ribbon Requirement
A minimum of 10 hours of community service.
Service Learning Ribbon Requirement
A minimum of 04 hours of Service Learning.
Physical Training (PT) Schedule
Conducted weekly on Fridays.
Late Assignment Grade Cap
The highest grade a cadet may earn for late assignments or exams is 80%.
Uniform Inspection Grade Weight
The percentage of the final grade attributed to uniform inspections, which is 30%.
Cadet Challenge Grade Weight
The percentage of the final grade attributed to the Cadet Challenge, which is 5%.
Four Phase Lesson Plan
The structure for all lessons consisting of: Inquire, Gather, Process, and Apply.
Inquire Phase
The first phase of a lesson plan asking: What do you already know or don’t know about the subject?
Gather Phase
The second phase of a lesson plan involving a discussion on what you need to know about the lesson.
Process Phase
The third phase of a lesson plan discussing how to use the new skill and practice applying it.
Apply Phase
The final phase of a lesson plan regarding how to incorporate new info into daily life or with other learned skills.
Eagles Battalion
The name of the Eisenhower High School Army Junior Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (AJROTC) unit.
