Define Monomer and polymer
Polymer also called plastics or synethics are long chain organic molecules
The simplest unit of a polymer is a monomer
Outline process of additon polymerisaiton
Initiation - free radical is added to the monomer (by dissociating the double bond) forming a new free radical species
Propagation - this new free radical fidns another monomer unti it and repeats
Termination - Eventually the growing free radical comes into contact with another and the upaired electrons come together to form a covalent bond connecting the chains
Use examples such as polyethene, to describe polymerisation
e.g plastic bag

Use examples such as Polyproplyene to describe polymerisation
e.g rope

Use examples such as Polytetrafluoroethlyene to describe polymerisation
e.g Pan
