Elements

The same as parts; in this context, the parts of a map.

Map

A picture that is shot from high above from a different place in the world.

Globe

A map that is shaped like a ball.

Title

The element that acts like a name for the map.

Symbols

A group of pictures that help learn about what is on the map and where they are.

Key or Legend

The element that shows the symbols and explains what the symbols are for.

Compass rose

An element that looks like a flower with four points and letters that helps get from place to place.

Cardinal directions

The words represented by the letters on the compass rose: $N$ for North, $E$ for East, $S$ for South, and $W$ for West.

Never Eat Slimy Worms

A fun phrase used to help remember the cardinal directions North, East, South, and West.
