They were very politically different. The USA and Britain were capitalist - democratic. But the USSR were communist which was a single party.

August 1945 the us dropped 2 atomic bombs destroying the cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki

What did these bombs mean for the USSR and the US relations?

It meant the USA didn't need military help and the US kept the atom bombs secret from the USSR in the Potsdam conference (although Stalins spy's each already passed on details) the bomb boosted the USAs status, for four years it was the worlds only nuclear weapon. However Stalin saw this as a attempt to intimidate the USSR. Both countries began to speed up development of the atomic bomb creating an arms race.
