there was a huge Christianity problem, people lacked tolerance therefore mistreated others with different beliefs, this led to the initial creation of Massachusetts, and when the citizens of those gained a lack of tolerance to others of different beliefs, it led to the creation of the other colonies (Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Conneticut)

the Mayflower Compact was a document that if signed, meant you were to follow all the laws of the Virginia Company the same way they do, showing equality between the Pilgrims and the Virginia Compact, and equality is a huge aspect of democracy

Puritans wanted to reform the Anglican Church, Separatists wanted to make a different Church for their own beliefs, however both did want to believe in what they wanted, not be forced against their will by the Anglican Church

Squanto and Samoset by all means saved the pilgrims lives, half of them died due to cold, illness, hunger but when these two friend requested the colonists, they were able to provide them crops, food, locations to hunt and fish, and prevented the Pilgrims from an event bigger kill count by famine and illness

Plymouth was the place the pilgrims decided to start new lives after the Virginia Company allowed them to stay on their land to practice religion as free as can be, they boarded the Mayflower and ended up in Cape Cod, north of Plymouth

The Great Migration was people migrating because of economic struggles and religious persecution, just like people moving because of the environment. proprietary colonies are colonies in which an owner (proprietor) owned all the land and controlled all of government. places like early New York were proprietary. the difference is democracy enforces equality, which isn't a factor in proprietary colonies as you have one person controlling everything rather than having equal roles.

the Dutch West India Company offered grants of land in exchange for (at least 50) settlers (land for population) to work that grant of land. as a result, New Netherlands gained population and therefore success. like the housing market who give land/house to a settler/citizen

New Jersey offered representative assembly, trial by jury, large tracts of land, and freedom of religion, a ploy to gain population. unfortunately, it couldn't because unlike New York, they didn't have a natural harbor so no major port/city

the Quakers, led by William Penn, gained land to make Pennsylvania so they can practice Quaker Ideals. Penn practiced that idea that everyone was equal and they should follow their religion and not the religious teachings, however it was still proprietary

the crop that Virginia used was tobacco, however it take great labor to plant, tend and harvest the crop. to fix this, they brought ships and enslaved Africans, leading to the decision of slavery in colonial America

religious conflict started because Maryland allowed both Christian branches, but Protestants outnumbered Catholics, Maryland had to issue the Act of Toleration in 1649, ensuring both branches could worship freely.
