Yediyot Klalliot #3

1. אָנֹכִי ה' אֱלֹקיךָ אֲשֶׁר הוֹצֵאתִיךָ מֵאֶרֶץ מִצְרַיִם מִבֵּית עֲבָדִים

I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

2. 
   לֹא יִהְיֶה לְךָ אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים עַל פָּנָי

You shall not have other gods before Me.

3. 
   לֹא יִהְיֶה לְךָ אֱלֹהִים אֲחֵרִים עַל פָּנָי

You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.

4.
זָכוֹר אֶת יוֹם הַשַּׁבָּת לְקַדְּשׁוֹ

Remember the Shabbat day, to keep it holy

5. כַּבֵּד אֶת אָבִיךָ וְאֶת אִמֶּךָ

Honour your mother and father

6. לֹא תִרְצַח

You shall not murder.

7. 
   לֹא תִנְאָף

You shall not commit adultery.

8. 
   לֹא תִגְנֹב

You shall not steal.

9. 
   לֹא תַעֲנֶה בְרֵעֲךָ עֵד שָׁקֶר

You shall not bear a false witness against your neighbour.

10. לֹא תַחְמֹד

You shouldn’t be jealous (covet)

An old Jewish tradition to contribute generously to funds that ensure that everyone who needs it has pesach materials- food, matza, wine, nice clothes, etc. known as ma’ot chetim- the wheat fund or kimcha d’psicha-Passover flour. It begins 30 days before pesach, and everything is distributed by the Shabbat before pesach.
