Part of the immune system that attacks and damages neurons, destroys pathogens, and removes the damaged neurons

Astrocytes CNS

Part of the Blood Brain Barrier where secretes growth factors, regulate ions & transmitters, glycogen nerves that brings nutrients to the brain, and increases interaction

Ependymal cells CNS

Helps with movement across the Blood CSF, helps with the shock absorbtion between brain and skull, and keeps homeostasis in the brain

Schwann cells PNS

Myelinate axons in the PNS, only 1 cell to one axon at a time (1 axon may have many of these cells)

Oligodendrocytes CNS

Myelinate multiple (30-60) axons in the CNS and cant be regenerated
