Photography
The art or practice of capturing images using light-sensitive materials.
Aperture
The variable opening in a lens through which light passes to the film or sensor, measured in f-stops.
Shutter Speed
The length of time that the camera's shutter is open, determining how much light hits the sensor.
ISO (International Standards Organization)
A measure of the sensitivity of the camera's sensor to light.
Exposure
The total amount of light reaching the image sensor, controlled by the combination of shutter speed, aperture, and ISO.
Bracketing
Taking a series of images at different exposure values to ensure the best result, often used in HDRs.
DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex)
A digital camera that uses a mirror and prism system to allow the photographer to see exactly what the lens sees.
Full Frame Sensor
A camera sensor that is equivalent to a 35mm film frame, providing a larger field of view.
Crop Sensor
A smaller camera sensor that results in a narrower field of view compared to a full frame sensor.
Tilt Shift Lens
A specialized lens used in architectural photography that allows for adjustments in perspective.
