What is Pathogenesis, and what three main factors influence it?
The causation and development of clinical disease. It is influenced by:

The virulence of the organism (e.g., killing cells, toxins, or causing immunopathology).
The host's reaction/immune resistance.
Differentiate between Incidence and Prevalence.
Incidence: The number of new cases of infection occurring in a population during a defined period of time.
Prevalence: The total number of infected individuals (both new and old cases) in a population at a specific point in time.
Define Mortality.
The total number of deaths caused by a disease in a population over a defined period of time.
What is a DALY and what is its formula?
Disability Adjusted Life Year—a metric measuring overall disease burden by combining life years lost to premature death and healthy years lost to disability.

What are the limitations of using DALYs alone to measure disease impact?
