Sinoatrial Node
Also known as the SA node, located in the right atrium wall, generates impulses 60 to 100 times per minute.
Sinoatrial Node
The 'Pacemaker' of the heart - sets the pace for the heart and determines heart rate, triggers the atria to contract and passes the impulse to the AV node.
Atrioventricular Node
Also known as the AV node, located between the atria and ventricles.
Atrioventricular Node
Causes a delay, allowing the atria to empty of blood and close the bicuspid and tricuspid valves, sends impulses to the AV bundle.
Atrioventricular Bundle
Located in the septum, also known as the AV bundle or bundle of His, sends impulses to the bundle branches.
Right & Left Bundle Branches
Right branch = right ventricle; Left branch = left ventricle; send impulses to the Purkinje fibers.
Purkinje Fibers
Spread through the ventricle muscle tissue, carries impulses through the ventricles and cause them to contract.
