two cavities divided by diaphragm
Thoracic cavity consisting of:
2 pleural cavities - contain the lungs
mediastinum
Mediastinum - Central region which contains:
pericardial cavity - contains heart
Superior mediastinum - part of esophagus, aorta, and thymus
Abdominal cavity - 2 subdivisions
A.) Abdominal cavity - contains the stomach, intestines, spleen, and liver
B.) Pelvic cavity - contains the bladder, reproductive organs, and rectum
