Does the media only refer to television?
No; newspaper, radio, magazine, flyers, online sources, and social media are all examples of media.
Define Media (or Medium).
The plural form of medium; a medium is any means of communicating information to the general public.
Does biased mean favoring one view over another?
Yes; often in a way that is unfair or prejudiced.
Can bias affect what stories a media outlet decides are important?
Yes; this is referred to as gatekeeping bias. Which causes them to prioritize or favor certain information over others.
Understand the roles of media: (as a gatekeeper; as bias; as entertainment; as agenda setter; as watchdog; as a business.
Gatekeeper - selects what news is covered and what is not
Bias - the tendency of news stations to favor one viewpoint over another
Entertainment - provides videos and content for sake of comedy or expression
Agenda Setter - influences public perception of what issues are most important
Watchdog - holds government and other institutions accountable
Business - self explantory; might do things for sake of profit as a business

The deliberate spread of information, ideas, or rumors with the intention of negatively affecting someone’s reputation.
What do Glittering Generalities use?
Use emotionally appealing phrases or positive catchphrases in association with a campaign or candidate.
What is Bandwagon propaganda similar to?
It’s similar to testimonials as they both rely upon an “endorser”; in this case a group compared to an individual.
