If anyone judges should be present, now by chance ignorant of the laws of judicial proceedings and of our customs, he would certainly wonder what great atrocity there is of this particular case,

Si quis, iudices, forte nunc adsit ignarus legum iudiciorum consuetudinisque nostrae, miretur profecto que sit tanta atrocitas huiusce causae,

that on festive days and public games, when all other legal business is interrupted this one legal proceeding is being carried out,
