always wear clean uniform
always wear a disposable or washed apron
wear professional but comfortable shoes with a low heel
wear disposable gloves
Who should you perform a patch test on?
Clients coming to a treatment for the first time or one that has a history of allergies
Where and when do you perform a patch test?
On the wrist, 24 hours before treatment
What are symptoms of an allergic reaction to a patch test?
itchiness
swelling
redness
rash
What is the procedure for a thermal / heat sensitivity test?
apply on the inside of your own wrist and
then on your clients wrist.
What are some hygiene guidelines to follow:
pre-cleansing lotions must have antibacterial properties
clean the clients feet
do not reuse wax
use disposable spatulas
Guidelines when draping your client:
avoid unnecessarily exposing your client
only the area being waxed should be exposed
put paper towels over the boobtube for underarm wax
use an electric blanket in cold weather
