(4.1) Rule of Law

No person is above the law; equality before the law.

(4.1) Limited Government

Power is limited by the Constitution. It’s also a way to set up boundaries and show that power has limits.

(4.1) Individualism

Each person is responsible for themselves and free to choose what they want to do.

(4.1) Equality of Opportunity

Everyone should have an equal opportunity to succeed, but the outcome isn’t guaranteed.

(4.1) Free Enterprise

Economic system based mostly on markets and freedom of people to choose what they buy or sell.

Political Ideology

A consistent set of beliefs about the purpose and scope of the government. Develop based on disagreements regarding government power.

Political Socialization

Process of a person obtaining their political ideology. Can be influenced by beliefs and the environment around them. Family is the biggest indicator.

Political Culture

Widely shared core values about the relationship between citizens and the government.
