Basic Speed Limit Outside Urban Areas
The basic speed limit outside a city, town, or village is 100 km/h.
Solid White Line (Urban Area)
A solid white line between driving lanes in an urban area means lane changing is not permitted.
Off-Paved Road Recovery
When a vehicle's right tires travel off the paved portion of the road, keep a firm grip on the steering wheel, ease off the gas pedal, and gradually return to the paved portion of the roadway.
Declaration Lane
A lane where vehicles reduce speed when exiting a highway.

Drivers must come to a stop and proceed slowly when safe to do so.

Your front wheels must be turned to the left.
Reversing in a Straight Line
Place your left hand at the top of the steering wheel and look over your right shoulder through the rear mirror.
U-Turns at Signal-Controlled Intersections
You are not permitted to make a U-turn at an intersection controlled by a traffic control signal in an urban area.
Steady Yellow Traffic Light
Stop before the intersection unless the stop cannot be made safely.
First Offence Impaired Driving Penalty
Drivers convicted on a first offence of driving while impaired will be suspended for 1 year.
Passing on a Two-Lane Highway
When passing vehicles traveling in the same direction on a 2-lane highway, you should pass on the left when safe.
Responding to Merging Vehicles
When driving on the right on a highway and another vehicle attempts to merge from an acceleration lane on the right, move into the left lane if safe or be prepared to adjust speed.
