B-Lactams
Acts in cell wall, prevents bacteria from building a strong cell wall, causing the cell to eventually break apart
Tatracyclines
Acts in ribosomal unit, blocks bacterial protein protection, preventing the bacteria from reproducing and growing
Fluoroquinolones
Acts in bacterial DNA synthesis, intereferes with enzymes needed to copy and repair bacterial DNA, stopping reproduction
Sulfa Antibiotics(sulfonamides)
Acts in cytoplasm, block how bacteria make folate, doesn’t kill bacteria directly, but without folate bacteria starve to death
