When brilliant minds responded to the call of the times and created things that could make life easier for the people. In other words, an innovation or a shift.

Copernican Revolution

A period where Nicolaus Copernicus proposed a change in the solar system.

Nicolaus Copernicus

He proposed that the sun was the center of the solar system and the earth revolved around it. He disturbed Ptolemy’s theory of geocentric model of the universe. (Heliocentric)

Claudius Ptolemy

Stated that planets, as well as the sun, and the moon, moved around the earth. (Geocentrism)

Sun being the center of the solar system

Darwinian Revolution

Time of Charles Darwin where he proposed the “Theory of Revolution.”

Proposed the “Theory of Evolution,” where he suggested that all organisms are related and have descended from a common ancestor.

Freudian Revolution

Period of Sigmund Freud, where he changed psychology.

Sigmund Freud

The father of Psychology. He proposed psychoanalysis the study that explains human behavior. He explains that there are many conscious and unconscious factors that can influence behavior and emotion.

Unconscious part of the mind. Meets basic needs and brings us pleasure. Doesn’t think about consequences.

EGO

Conscious part of the mind (Rational Self). Balances ID and SUPEREGO.

SUPEREGO

Morality. Unconscious part of the mind that acts as our conscience and thinks about consequences.

Spanish Era

Established schools for boys and girls and introduced the concept of subjects and disciplines.
