Attributions are formed via the covariation principle (containing which 3 elements?)
1) Consensus - if the majority reacts in a similar fashion
2) Distinctiveness - if the person’s behaviour is specific to the target
3) Consistency - situational consistency of that person’s behaviour to the same target
Eg. Alex laughs loudly at a comedian during a live show.
We want to know:
Is Alex’s laughter caused by Alex (a dispositional trait) or by the comedian (a target‑based cause)?
