Food Supply
The total amount of food available for consumption in a certain area.
Agriculture
The practice of farming, including cultivation of the soil for growing crops and rearing animals for food.
GMO (Genetically Modified Organism)
Any organism whose genetic material has been altered using gene engineering techniques.
Organic Food
Food produced without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers, and genetically modified organisms.
Subsidies
Financial support extended by the government to help the agricultural sector.
Food Waste
The discarding or destruction of food that is safe and nutritious for consumption.
Food Science
The study of the physical, biological, and chemical makeup of food and the causes of food deterioration.
Food Technology
The application of food science to the production, preservation, packaging, distribution, and use of food.
Synthetic Pesticides
Chemicals used to kill or manage pests that are produced artificially, rather than occurring naturally.
Crops
Cultivated plants grown for food, usually harvested for consumption or sale.
