Noli Me Tangere

An 1887 novel written by Dr. José Rizal in Berlin, Germany, exposing the evils of Spanish friars and colonial oppression.

El Filibusterismo

An 1891 novel written by Dr. José Rizal in Ghent, Belgium, meaning "The Subversive" or "Rebellion."

Contemporary Art

An art movement that emerged during the late 1960s and early 1970s up until the present day, often in tune with social, political, and economic matters.

Social Realism

A style of art that became in tune with social, political, and economic matters, speaking to the experiences of today.

Integrative Art

The combination of two or more art forms to create engaging masterpieces, allowing artists to freely use any medium or form without limitation from trends.

Ang Larawan

A 2017 film adaptation of Nick Joaquin’s "The Portrait of an Artist as a Filipino," directed by Loy Arcenas, which serves as an example of integrative art.
