Caseating Tuberculosis
A type of tuberculosis characterized by large areas of pale pink, homogenous, structureless caseation in tissues like lymph nodes. Tubercles with Langhan’s giant cells, epithelioid cells, and lymphocytes are seen.
Miliary Tuberculosis
A form of tuberculosis where multiple small reddish tubercles are scattered throughout an organ, such as the lung, with minimal pinkish homogenous caseation. Tubercles composed of epithelioid cells, lymphocytes, and Langhan’s giant cells are present.
Ghon’s focus
A primary lesion in the lung, often seen in conjunction with lymphadenitis in primary pulmonary tuberculosis.
Pleural Fibrosis and Adhesions
Complications seen in tuberculosis, characterized by the thickening and scarring of the pleura, often associated with adhesions.
Caseous Foci
Small, yellow, cheese-like necrotic areas that are scattered throughout the lung in miliary tuberculosis.
Mesenteric and Para-aortic Lymph Nodes (Tuberculosis)
Lymph nodes that are enlarged, matted, yellow, and caseous due to tuberculosis infection.
Pott's Disease
Tuberculosis of the vertebrae, leading to the destruction of vertebral bodies and intervertebral discs by yellow caseous material, potentially forming a cold abscess under the anterior vertebral ligament and leading to pathological fractures.
Cold Abscess
A collection of caseous material under the anterior vertebral ligament in Pott's disease (tuberculosis of the vertebrae).
