Correlation
A statistical measure that indicates the extent to which two or more variables fluctuate together.
Quasi-Experimental Design
Research design that attempts to minimize threats to internal validity but does not use random assignment.
Nonexperimental Research
Research that examines the relationship between variables without manipulating them or controlling for other influences.
Correlation Coefficient
A numerical value that describes the relationship between two variables, indicating its direction, form, and strength.
Positive Correlation
A relationship between two variables in which they increase or decrease together.
Negative Correlation
A relationship between two variables in which one variable increases as the other decreases.
Predictor Variable
A variable that is used to predict the value of another variable, known as the criterion variable.
Criterion Variable
The variable that is being predicted or explained in a study based on the predictor variable.
Validity
The extent to which a test measures what it claims to measure.
Reliability
The consistency or stability of a measurement over time.
