Prokaryotic Cells
Usually unicellular (like bacteria) with no true nucleus (DNA floats freely) and no membrane-bound organelles.
Eukaryotic Cells
Can be unicellular or multicellular, has a true nucleus with a membrane and membrane-bound organelles (e.g., mitochondria, ER).
Size of Prokaryotic Cells
Smaller (1-10 µm).
Size of Eukaryotic Cells
Larger (10-100 µm).
Examples of Prokaryotic Cells
Bacteria, Archaea.
Examples of Eukaryotic Cells
Plants, animals, fungi, protists.
Plant Cells
Eukaryotic cells that have a cell wall (made of cellulose), chloroplasts (for photosynthesis), and one large central vacuole.
Animal Cells
Eukaryotic cells that lack a cell wall, do not have chloroplasts, and have small or no vacuoles.
