Is csr really acting because it is the right thing to do
strength- Kant suggests honest shopkeeper shows that csr is acceptable if acting because it is the right thing to do

Strength-csr is a good thing as it treats people as a means to an end by acting ethically and philanthropically
CA-csr in reality is just window dressing eg. Car manufactures
Does csr produce the greatest happiness for the greatest number?
Strength-typically more employers than shareholders, so being ethical produces gain of pleasure
CA-allowing a business to make profit produces the greatest happiness because wealth can be reinvested
does a business have responsibility to be ethical?
Strength-businesses are not people so don’t have ethical responsibilities, abstract entity.
CA-but shareholders are human beings so have responsibility to be ethical
Is CSR too optimistic to implement into our society?
strength-companies will only pay lip service to csr in a competitive free market economy
Ca-can be effective if enforced through laws
