Apartheid

A system of labor after the abolition of slavery where workers farm land in exchange for a share of the crop, often leading to a cycle of debt and exploitation.

The rate of children dying, particularly in situations such as plantations where there was little or no child care.
Maternal Mortality Rate
The rate of women dying, particularly in situations such as plantations where women worked until they went into labor and returned soon after giving birth.
