tips:
read the question carefully - it will tell you what to look for
find a point of difference or similarity in the two texts
aim for 2-3 comparisons
comparative words e.g similarly, likewise, however, whereas
back up points with quotes
analyse what you’ve written - think, “what do these things lead you to believe”. state something that isn’t mentioned and is your interpretation

tips:
remember that some of the language devices might be different as it is a non fiction text (tone of voice, opinions presented as facts, biased phrases, statistics and facts)
do answer the question first by deciding on 3-5 key words
use these key words to help you find examples to support your ideas
look for language techniques inside of those quotes and explain the effect
both low and high level techniques are worth exploring

compare writers methods such as tone, format of the text or the narrative
