Health (WHO definition)
A state of complete physical, mental and social well being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.
Nursing (Donaldson and Crowley, 1978)

Universal Health Care Act
Republic Act No. 11223 in the Philippines.
Universal Health Coverage (UHC)
Ensuring all individuals and communities receive needed health services (promotion, prevention, treatment, palliative) without suffering financial hardship.
Clinical Model
A health model where health is the absence of signs and symptoms of disease, and illness is their presence.
Role Performance Model
A model where health is defined by the individual's ability to perform societal roles, such as work or family duties.
Adaptive Model
A health model viewing health as a dynamic state where the individual adjusts positively to social, mental, and physiological changes.
Eudaimonistic Model
A model emphasizing quality of life, finding meaning and purpose, and the inherent ability of the person to self-regulate as a holistic and unitary person.
Eudaimonia
An Aristotelian concept translated as 'flourishing' or 'success,' involving living with Arete (virtue) and focusing on what one can control.
Kaginhawahan Model
A Filipino model of health characterized by relational harmony and being at profound peace with oneself, community, society, environment, Cosmos, and Divinity.
Social Determinants of Health (SDH)
Conditions in which people are born, grow, live, work, and age, shaped by the distribution of money, power, and resources.
One Health Concept
A framework involving collaborative efforts between human health, veterinary medicine, and environmental health professionals to address global health issues.
Traditional Alternative Medicine Act of 1997 (TAMA)
The law regulating the use of traditional and alternative medicine in the Philippines, including the recognized medicinal plants.
